Parameter
| Parameter | Required | Value |
|---|---|---|
| platform | Yes | tiktok / instagram / youtube / twitter / douyin / xiaohongshu |
| post_id | Yes | Post id; for Douyin and TikTok you can also pass the numeric id from the video URL |
When to use it instead of search results
Search results are for finding; get_post is for tracking. Re-pull the same post once a week into your own store and you can compute its growth curve — the search endpoint returns a snapshot of the moment, history only exists if you store it yourself.
Field semantics
Posts share one structure: id / url / author{id,handle, name} / text / created_at / stats{likes, comments, shares, views, collects} / cover. Switching platforms needs no change to your parsing code.
Note
Engagement counts on public pages refresh asynchronously, so you get the public value at that moment; when reconciling across sources, use the same point in time. X has no post detail tool, so use the entries from search results.
