Why it deserves its own step
Hardcoding “can this platform search by keyword” is a common source of incidents: once it is baked in, a change on the platform side makes the call return empty silently, and an empty result looks the same in the data as “this term really has no content”. Ask the capability table once and skip unsupported branches explicitly, and your logs show at a glance whether it was “unsupported” or “no data”.
Response shape
platforms[] Each entry carries the platform id, its Chinese label and the available tools; note documents the group and authorization boundaries. Tool names match our docs, so they map directly onto enums in your code.
When not to use it
A script that uses one platform only and already works can skip this call; but anything involving cross-platform comparison or writing several platforms into one store should start here.
